asked the Minister for Lands whether the Land Commission have considered the propriety of acquiring the D'Arcy Estate, Newforest, Toomard, Ballinasloe, County Galway, to relieve local congestion, and, if so, with what result.

Negotiations solely for voluntary purchase concerning this estate are now in progress between the Land Commission and the landowner concerned. For the moment I would prefer that these negotiations be treated as confidential.

asked the Minister for Lands when it is proposed to rearrange and divide the lands on the Fallon Estate, Toomard, Ballinasloe, County Galway, which the Land Commission have had possession of for a considerable period.

asked the Minister for Lands when it is proposed to rearrange and divide the lands in Rushestown, Toomard, Ballinasloe, County Galway which have been in the possession of the Land Commission for a number of years.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to take together Questions Nos. 8 and 9 both of which relate to the Fallon Estate. The Land Commission have on hands some 200 acres which they hope to utilize in the re-arrangement of holdings on this estate. Previous attempts at re-arrangement were unsuccessful due to non-co-operation by some of the tenants but a further effort to formulate re-arrangement proposals is now being undertaken.
