Vol. 164 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Directors of State-sponsored Companies.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state which directors of what State-sponsored boards or companies appointed by him, who were in office on the 20th March last, no longer hold such office; and if he will further state who has since been appointed in the place of each such director, or as an additional director, of any such board or company, and the qualifications, if any, of each person so appointed.

Directors of Bord Fáilte Éireann who were in office on 20th March, 1957, and who no longer hold office are Mr. J.A. Nugent, Mr. H. J. Downing and Mr. S.J. Muldowney; they have been replaced by Mr. S.M. Glynn, Mr. A.L. Downes and Mr. J. Groome.

Mr. L. Ó Muirgheasa and Mr. H.S. Murray, Directors of Córas Tráchtála, Teo., who were in office on the date mentioned, no longer hold office. New directors of that company are Mr. M.J. Barry, Mr. A.R. Bradshaw, Mr. B.J. Lenihan and Mr. J.P. Twohig.

Each of the persons appointed since 20th March last was appointed because his knowledge and experience specially equipped him to assist in the furtherance of the objects of the bodies concerned.

One of the persons mentioned was not appointed because he is a member of the National Executive of Fianna Fáil?

Do not worry. I shall eliminate that sort of thing.
