Vol. 164 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Relief of Tralee Flooding.

asked the Minister for Local Governmsnt if he will state if his Department received proposals from the Kerry County Council for the relief of flooding in Tralee town, and, if so, if he will now take what action he proposes in the matter.

The Kerry County Council has submitted to my Department for consideration a preliminary report from the consulting engineer appointed by them to investigate the causes of flooding in certain areas in Tralee. It is a matter for the council, in conjunction with the Tralee Urban District Council, to decide in the first instance what scheme, if any, should be undertaken.

In the meantime, the report is being considered in my Department and a reply will issue to the council in the near future.
