The average cost per acre of planting State forests excluding the cost of land acquisition but including overheads and administration is currently estimated at £33 18s. The cost of maintenance for the first four years after planting, also inclusive of overheads and maintenance, is estimated at £18 10s. This figure is tentative as certain costs are not universally incurred at fixed ages.
