Vol. 165 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - State Lands in Cork.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will now state what progress has been made by his Department towards taking over the State lands at Billereagh, Araglin, and Kilworth, and the fixing of standard rents thereon.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will now state the position in regard to the taking over and division of the State lands at Moorepark, Kilworth, amongst the uneconomic holders in the area.

I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to take Question Nos. 26 and 27 together.

Possession of the lands of Moorepark was obtained by the Land Commission last September but it is not yet possible to indicate when allotment will take place.

Negotiations are in progress with the Department of Defence regarding the lands of Billereagh West, but, pending the outcome of these negotiations, I am unable to say what action can be taken in the matter.

Would the Minister endeavour to speed up these matters?

I shall draw the attention of the Land Commission to the Deputy's observation.
