Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Turbary in Listowel Rural District.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will give particulars, including townland, estate, and area, of turbary lands acquired in the Listowel rural district, and at present on hands for allotment among householders in the local areas who are in need of turbary; when it is proposed to allot these turbary plots; from what districts allottees will be considered; and, in particular, whether householders such as smallholders and cottiers who have not existing turbary plots of their own, will be considered.

The reply is in the form of a tabular statement which, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, will be circulated in the Official Report.

The following is the position regarding turbary on hands in Listowel Rural District:—

It is not possible to indicate at present when this turbary will be allotted or from what district allottees will be drawn but the needs of all applicants, including smallholders and cottiers, will be fully considered when arrangements are being made to allocate the turbary.
