Vol. 165 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Coffinite Deposits.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether any deposits of coffinite have been discovered in Ireland; and whether the discovery of this mineral in Cornwall suggests the probability of its occurring in similar geological surroundings here.

No deposits of coffinite have been discovered in Ireland. The discovery of this mineral in Cornwall would not suggest the probability of its occurrence in this country, as there are no mineralised areas here similar in geological structure to those in Cornwall.
