The cost of providing the cottages on the basis of the tenders which the housing authority propose to accept would be exceedingly high and I have asked the council to consider adopting certain measures to secure reductions in the building cost. When the council have submitted their views on these suggestions, a decision regarding the tenders will be given without delay.
