asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether, following his discussions with interests representing the Cork Airport project on the 18th October, 1957, and correspondence between his Department and these interests, he is prepared to allow temporary summer services to be operated between London and Farmer's Cross and, if not, why permission to operate such services has been refused.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cork Airport Services.
The existing airfield at Farmer's Cross is not suitable for scheduled services, to which, I assume, the Deputy is referring and I cannot, therefore, allow such services to be operated.
The reasons why the airfield is unsuitable for scheduled services are, I think, well known and were stated by my predecessor in reply to a question in Dáil Éireann on 14th November, 1956.
