The numbers of persons on the live register at 1st March, 1958, at the local offices of the Department of Social Welfare in County Donegal were: Ballybofey, 603; Ballyshannon, 542; Buncrana, 1,480; Donegal, 477; Dunfanaghy, 1,201; Dungloe, 1,578; Killybegs, 1,356, and Letterkenny, 1,206.
