Vol. 166 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Commercial Travellers' Motor Insurance.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will make public the recommendation of the Prices Advisory Body concerning the extra charge which is levied on commercial travellers' motor insurance.

This matter did not come within the scope of the public inquiries carried out by the Prices Advisory Body, but, on the basis of an informal comment by the body, and in the light of representations made to me, I looked into the matter and found that it was one of detailed operation of insurance business in which, consistent with my statutory functions, it would not be proper for me to intervene.
