In November, 1954, An Bord Iascaigh Mhara submitted a provisional long-term development programme which included the installation of a quick freezing plant at Dingle in the year 1958-59. In connection with the Estimate of expenditure in the current year, financial provision was sought and made for this project. Owing to difficulty in completing the acquisition of a suitable site, however, the board have so far been unable to proceed with the work.
