Vol. 167 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Improvement Works at Dursey Island and Dursey Sound.

asked the Minister for Finance whether proposals have been submitted to his Department regarding the improvement of the piers and the provision of winches at Dursey Island and Dursey Sound; and, if so, if he will indicate when his approval may be expected and the work proceeded with.

An engineering report with plans and estimate of cost prepared by the Office of Public Works, to provide improvements to the landing facilities, including the provision of derricks, at Dursey Island and the mainland opposite, have now become available. The Departments of Lands and Agriculture are being consulted on the suitability of the proposals in relation to their cost. A decision on the matter will be expedited as far as possible.
