Vol. 168 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Maam Cross Bridge.

asked the Minister for Finance if he received an application for the erection of a new bridge over the river at Knockadave, Maam Cross; and, if so, if he is prepared to allocate a grant for the purpose.

An application has been received for a full-cost grant for the reconstruction of a road and two bridges thereon leading from the county road 40 perches north of Glentrasna village and leading to Dudley Nee's house in Knockadave, which it is presumed is the proposal referred to by the Deputy. Bridges are not a suitable employment scheme and the applicants are, therefore, being invited to submit a proposal for consideration under the rural improvements scheme, which requires a contribution from the beneficiaries.
