Vol. 168 No. 1

Committee on Finance. - Fisheries (Amendment) Bill, 1957—Financial Resolution.

I move:—

1.—(1) That levies may be imposed, at such rates as may be fixed by the Minister for Lands, after consultation with the Minister for Finance, under statutory authority, on salmon for export, for the purposes of maintaining a Salmon Conservancy Fund in aid of boards of conservators for fishery districts and in aid of schemes for the improvement of the inland fisheries.

(2) That provision may be made under statutory authority for the collection and enforcement of payment of such levies.

2.—That there shall be charged, levied and paid on fishing licences (including licences to take oysters) issued by boards of conservators for fishery districts licence duties at such rates as may be fixed by or under statute.

This has come a little quicker than we anticipated.

It was agreed we take it.

It can be raised later, anyway.

Question put and agreed to.
Financial Resolution reported and agreed to.
