Vol. 169 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Industries Ancillary to Oil Refinery.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce what progress has been made in relation to the establishment of industries ancillary to the oil refinery at Whitegate, County Cork.

The Irish Refining Company, Limited, have already announced that it is not their intention to process by-products at Whitegate but they have also indicated that, if other groups are interested, their proposals would be examined.

Interested parties who have made inquiries on this subject have accordingly been advised to get in touch with the refining company. So far as I am aware no firm industrial proposal has yet emerged.
