Vol. 169 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Delays in Shipments of Meat.

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether shipments of dead meat for export were delayed on recent occasions because of the inability of his Department to provide sufficient veterinary surgeons; and whether he will take steps to prevent such delays in future.

While I understand that, on occasions, it has not been found possible to avoid some delay in providing the veterinary personnel required, I am not aware that this has in fact resulted in delayed shipments. My Department will do whatever it can in the matter.
