Vol. 169 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Revision of Anglo-Irish Trade Agreement.

asked the Minister for External Affairs whether any discussions have recently taken place with British Ministers regarding a revision of the Anglo-Irish Trade Agreement; and, if so, whether he will make a statement on the matter.

The answer to the first part of the question is in the negative. The second part of the question does not, therefore, arise.

May I take it that no early discussions on the subject are contemplated?

The Deputy asked me if any discussion had recently taken place——

Knowing the Minister is so knowledgeable in these matters I now want to ask him another question——

Put it on the Order Paper.

The Minister for Health is not yet Minister for External Affairs.

Rumour has it that he is going to be, or that he is leaving his present post.

I am merely suggesting the Deputy should put his questions on the Order Paper.

I merely want to ask a supplementary question—whether, although no discussions have recently taken place, any such discussions are contemplated in the near future?

None that I know of.
