Vol. 170 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Transport by Tractors: Instructions to Gardaí.

asked the Minister for Justice if the Gardaí have instructions to prosecute in a case where a farmer carries a person or persons (not for hire or reward) on his tractor or trailer when conveying live stock to or from a fair or market.

No special instructions have been given with regard to this. It is the duty of the Garda Síochána to enforce the law which makes it an offence to carry passengers on a tractor in certain circumstances but not in others.
