Vol. 170 No. 3

Committee on Finance. - International Finance Corporation Bill, 1958—Committee and Final Stages.

Sections 1 and 2 agreed to.
SECTION 3.

I move amendment No. 1:—

In sub-section (7), page 3, line 8, to delete "8 and 9" and substitute "8, 9 and 11".

In sub-section (7), on page 3, line 8 reads: "The provisions of Sections 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 of Article VI." The amendment I want to put in there is to make it read, "Sections 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 11 of Article VI." It was considered by our legal advisers that it might be safer to have Section 11 there, which deals with the powers of the corporation to waive any privilege that might be granted under this section.

Amendment agreed to.
Section 3, as amended, agreed to.
Section 4 agreed to.
Schedule and Title agreed to.
Bill reported with amendment.
Bill received for final consideration and passed.

The Minister cannot be blamed for not being expeditious this morning.

We would not like to destroy the Minister's aim.
