Vol. 170 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Inquiry into Death of Fermoy Patient.

andBarry asked the Minister for Health if he has yet received the report of the inquiry held at Mallow into the circumstances attending the death of Denis O'Donovan at Fermoy Hospital; and, if so, whether the report has been considered, and to what effect.

I have received the report of the inquiry held at Mallow into the circumstances attending the death of Denis O'Donovan. This report is at present under examination.

Would the Minister say if we may expect early publication of his views on the report, in view of the long period that has elapsed since the holding of the public inquiry?

Certainly. The Deputy is perhaps aware of the fact that there will be some difficulty about the transcript, for which, I may say, my Department had no responsibility.
