Vol. 170 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Restoration of Cleggan (Galway) Lock Gates.

asked the Minister for Finance whether the restoration of the lock gates at Cleggan, Connemara, County Galway, which was requested of him by Galway County Council, is a matter for his Department; and, if so, what progress has been made in regard to it.

The restoration of the lock gates at Cleggan is not the responsibility of my Department but the Commissioners of Public Works have been asked by the Fisheries Branch of the Department of Lands for engineering advice in the matter. The necessary inspection will be carried out this year following which a report will be furnished to the Fisheries Branch for consideration by them.
