Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Irish Shipping Companies: Earnings and Payments.

asked the Taoiseach if he will state the estimated gross freight earnings of Irish shipping companies, and the amount of the payments made by such companies outside the State in the year 1957.

The estimated gross freight earnings of Irish shipping companies in 1957 was £4.2 million and the amount of payments (including capital payments in respect of the purchase of new ships) made by such companies outside the State was estimated at £4.9 million.
