Vol. 171 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. - Prisoners in Curragh Internment Camp.

asked the Minister for Defence whether he is aware that owing to overcrowding and unsatisfactory conditions the health of many of the prisoners held at the Curragh Internment Camp under the Offences Against the State (Amendment) Act, 1940, has been seriously impaired; and what action he proposes to take to improve conditions.

I am satisfied that a situation such as that mentioned by the Deputy does not exist in the camp and that there is therefore no necessity for any ameliorative action.
