Vol. 171 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Drainage of Mayo Lakes and River Ayle.

asked the Minister for Finance what progress has been made towards the arterial drainage of Lough Mask, Lough Carra and the Ayle River.

A small portion of the Corrib-Mask catchment area, which includes Lough Mask, Lough Carra and the Ayle River, was covered by the survey of the Corrib catchment area which was begun in 1948. No further progress has been made in the survey of the Corrib-Mask catchment since it was decided in 1950 to proceed with a separate scheme for the Corrib-Clare catchment. I cannot at present say when the survey can be resumed.
