Vol. 171 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cost of Increasing Old Age and Blind Pensions.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will state the cost of increasing all old age and blind pensions by 5/- weekly.

The cost of increasing all old age and blind pensions by 5/- weekly would be approximately £2,130,000 per annum.

One could take that out of the Defence Vote, for which there is £6,000,000 by reducing it to £4,000,000.
