Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Control of Exports.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state the description of the goods the export of which is controlled by him, and the date and reference of the Order applicable in each case.

As the reply is in the form of a tabular statement, I propose, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to circulate it with the Official Report.

Following is the statement:—

Description of Goods

Cattle, dead (including bulls, cows, bullocks, heifers and calves), or any part thereof,

Agricultural Products (Restriction of Export) Order, 1953 (S.I. No. 234 of 1953), as amended by Agricultural Products (Restriction of Export) Order, 1954 (S.I. No. 262 of 1954) and Agricultural Products (Restriction of Export) (No. 2) Order, 1956 (S.I. No. 94 of 1956).

Sheep, dead (including lambs), or any part thereof,

Pigs, dead, or any part thereof,

*Bacon and Ham,

*Offals (including heads and feet) of cattle, sheep and pigs or any part thereof in any condition whatsoever,

*Meat products of all kinds, including meat products tinned or in other airtight containers,

*Animal fats, edible (including lard and dripping but excluding butter),

Horseflesh and the offals of horses in any condition whatsoever,

Veal,

Cattle, live (including bulls, cows, bullocks, heifers and calves),

*Beef (excluding veal),

*Mutton (including lamb),

*Pork.

FOOTNOTE

The export of the following, viz.:

live cattle (including bulls, cows, bullocks, heifers and live cattle (including bulls, cows, bullocks, heifers and calves), beef (excluding veal), mutton (including lamb) and pork to Great Britain, the Isle of Man or Northern Ireland is not subject to control by the foregoing legislation.

The export to any destination of the following, viz.:

beef, veal, pork, mutton, lamb and horseflesh,

is also controlled by

Agricultural Produce (Fresh Meat) Act, 1930 as amended by Agri-controlled cultural Produce (Fresh Meat) (Amendment) Acts, 1931 to 1938 and the Agricultural Produce (Meat) (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1954.

and of

offals of cattle, pigs, sheep,lambs and horses.

The export of bacon is also controlled by the Pigs and Bacon Acts, 1935 to 1956.

*Creamery Butter

Creamery Butter (Prohibition of Export) Order, 1949 (S.I. No. 176 of 1949) as amended by Creamery Butter (Prohibition of Export) Order, 1949 (Partial Revocation) Order, 1956 (S.I. No. 233 of 1956).

*Milk, whether fresh, dried or Condensed,

Agricultural Products (Restriction of Export) Order, 1953 (S.I. No. 234 of 1953) as amended by Agricultural Products (Restriction of Exports) Order, 1954 (S.I. No. 262 of 1954).

*Cream,

*Cheese whether raw or processed.

Grass Seed

Grass Seed (Regulation of Export) Order, 1954 (S.I. No. 195 of 1954).

Bulbs and corns of flowering plants

Agricultural Products (Restriction of Export) Order, 1953 (S.I. No. 234 of 1953).

Potatoes

Agricultural Produce (Potatoes) Act, 1931 (No. 26 of 1931) and Agricultural Products (Restriction of Export) Order, 1953 (S.I. No. 234 of 1953).

Wheat Offals,

Feeding Stuffs (Restriction of Export) Order, 1953 (S.I. No. 233 of 1953) as amended by the Feeding Stuffs (Restriction of Export) Order, 1956 (S.I. No. to pigs, poultry or cattle and 93 of 1956) and the Feeding Stuffs (Restriction of Export) Order, 1957 (S.I. No. 178 of 1957).

Beet Pulp,

Any mixture which is for feeding which contains one or more of the following:—

(a) Wheat,

(b) Barley or maize, whether whole or subjected to any process of grinding, crushing or flaking,

(c) Wheat Offals,

(d) Beet pulp.

Wheat,

Barley, rye and maize, whether whole or subjected to any process of grinding, crushing or flaking.
