Vol. 171 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Additional Road Grants: Monaghan Representations.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is in a position to give a reply to the resolution from Monaghan County Council asking for additional road grants for counties not served by subsidised railways.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is in a position to give a decision on the question of road grants for County Monaghan which was requested by a deputation from Monaghan County Council which met him last April.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 103 and 104 together. They both relate to road problems which have been created in County Monaghan by the recent closing of railway lines. Similar problems have arisen in other counties. I am having the whole question fully examined to see what can be done in the different areas.
