Vol. 171 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - North Kerry Coast Erosion.

asked the Minister for Finance whether in view of the considerable damage caused during recent years by coast erosion in North Kerry he will find it possible in future to bring within the scope of the special employment schemes grants provision for the construction of embankments and/or walls to protect public roadways, accommodation passages and the amenities of holiday resorts.

The special employment schemes office has no function in the matter of coast protection works and in any event such works would not be suitable to be carried out under any of the schemes directly administered by that office.
