asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will indicate generally the principal features of the dairying industry revealed in the unpublished report of the Milk Costings Commission under the following or other convenient headings:—(1) milk production (a) per cow (b) per gallon and (c) per acre, (2) cost of production (a) per cow (b) per gallon and (c) per acre, (3) labour units per farm (a) family and (b) hired, (4) hours of work per week (a) family and (b) hired, (5) labour costs per hour (a) family and (b) hired, (6) labour costs (a) per cow (b) per gallon and (c) per farm, (7) allowance for (a) depreciation on buildings (b) interest on capital and (c) management as an average per farm per cow and per gallon, (8) cost of farm and dairy machinery per mile and per hour, (9) average county rates per farm and per acre, (10) cost of milk delivery per mile and per gallon, and (11) total number of farms, acres, cows and labour units (family and hired) in the survey.

A copy of the report is being supplied to the Deputy. He will find that it covers a substantial number of the points raised in his question.
