Vol. 171 No. 16

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry Accommodation Roads.

17.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware that the South View Terrace accommodation road, Waterville, No. 1123, was repaired under a rural improvement scheme grant last summer; and if he will state (1) the amount of the grant allocated by the Special Employment Schemes Office, (2) the amount of the local contribution, and (3) if grants were made available from any other source.

I am aware that an accommodation road in the village of Waterville, reference number Kerry 1123, was repaired under the rural improvements scheme this year. (1) The amount of the grant allocated was £441. (2) The amount paid by way of local contribution was £49. (3) I am not aware of any grants made available from other sources.

18.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the present position in regard to the application for a rural improvement grant for the Reenrusheen accommodation road, Caherciveen; and if he will expedite the carrying out of the scheme.

The Special Employment Schemes Office are awaiting certain necessary information from the Kerry County Council regarding the road known locally as the "Reenrusheen road". If the proposal is found to be eligible for a grant under the rural improvements scheme a formal offer will issue without delay and the Deputy will be notified.
