Vol. 172 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Pig Deliveries to Factories.

5.

asked the Minister for Agriculture what is the cause of the decline of 30 per cent. in the number of pigs received in the factories in the first two weeks of 1959 compared to 1958.

Variations in the weekly intake of pigs by factories occur fairly frequently and it is difficult to say exactly what causes this tendency. In the third week of the present year, the number of pigs delivered was 21,905 as against 30,011 in the corresponding week of 1958.
