asked the Minister for Lands if he will state the landings of fish in cwts. for a year to the nearest available date at Howth. Arklow, Dunmore East, Baltimore, Dingle, Galway, Helvick, Kilmore and Killybegs, and the amounts expended in State grants on each port since 1940.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to circulate with the Official Report a statement showing for each of the ports mentioned—

(1) the approximate quantity of fish landed in the year 1958

(2) the total amount of the State grants (none of which was expended before 1949) made up to 31st March, 1959, to the Irish Sea Fisheries Association, Ltd., and An Bord Iascaigh Mhara towards the cost of premises and plant.

If the Deputy desires information about other State grants, he should seek it from the Ministers concerned, e.g., Minister for Finance and Minister for Industry and Commerce in the case of harbour works.
