The policy of the Government in regard to external borrowing is set out at paragraph 138 of the White Paper on Economic Expansion. No such borrowing is immediately in prospect so far as the Exchequer is concerned. As far as can be foreseen State-sponsored bodies will use capital of about £430,000 obtained from external sources for the purposes of the capital programme, 1959-60.
