Vol. 175 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of Land in Offaly.

19.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state for the years 1956/57, 1957/58 and 1958/59 the total area of land acquired by the Land Commission in County Offaly, and the total area allotted.

The total area taken over by the Land Commission in County Offaly in each of the three financial years mentioned was 1,165 acres, 694 acres and 2,488 acres respectively. The total area allotted in each of the three years was 220 acres, 269 acres and 1,682 acres respectively. There will be no avoidable delay in the disposal of lands on hands in the county.

Will the Minister segregate these figures and let us know how much of the land is bog?

If the Deputy puts down another question, a reply will be given.

Most of it must be bog.
