Vol. 175 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Payment for Tipperary Land.

20.

asked the Minister for Lands why Mr. W. Maher, Richmond, Templemore, County Tipperary, has not got payment for land which was taken over by his Department some years ago; and when payment will be made.

Allocation of purchase money in this case will be put in hands when rulings on title issued by the Examiner have been discharged on behalf of owner. The Land Commission are not responsible for any delay in this matter which, it is understood, is being expedited.

That means that something is not in order. My information is that everything has been in order so far as his part is concerned and he has been waiting for the past two years.

The Deputy should make further inquiries. My information is that this is not a matter for the Land Commission. I understand the matter is now being expedited, not by the Land Commission, but by the representatives of the owners.

Would the Minister say when the land was taken over?

The estate was compulsorily acquired. I have not got the particulars with me.

Is it not a fact that the land has been acquired for some years?

Yes, it is a fact.

At various stages, this man has made application for payment but payment has not been made.
