Vol. 175 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dairy Exports to Gibraltar.

3.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he is aware that the Government of Gibraltar have removed all restrictions on the import of milk and milk products; and if in view of the surplus of milk in this country, he will investigate the potentiality of exports to that area.

I am advised that there has been no change in the regulations regarding import of dairy products into Gibraltar. A recent announcement by the British Board of Trade merely re-stated the position which has existed since 1954, namely that butter and tinned milk entering Gibraltar from this country are subject to import licensing control, while cheese and powdered milk do not require import licences.
