Vol. 176 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Employment Statistics.

16.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will segregate the employment of 3,955 and 1,700 provided by industries assisted by An Foras Tionscal and under the Industrial Grants Act, 1956, respectively, as between employment for (a) males, (b) females and (c) juveniles.

It is expected that 2,068 males and 1,887 females will be employed in undertakings for which grants were approved by An Foras Tionscal to the 30th June, 1959. The corresponding figures for undertakings for which grants have been approved by the Industrial Development Authority are 1,169 males and 531 females. It is not possible to furnish information in relation to juvenile employment in these undertakings.
