NOTES.

The Imposition of Duties (No. 60) (Special Import Levies and Miscellaneous Customs Duties) Order, 1959, effective from 16th April, 1959, altered the scope of certain of the Special Import Levy headings. The receipts shown above for the year ended 31st March, 1959, represent the receipts from the headings as they were prior to 16th April, 1959.

Some of the above headings were also amended by the Imposition of Duties (No. 28) (Special Import Levies and Miscellaneous Customs Duties) Order, 1958, with effect from 10th April, 1958. In these cases the amounts shown include receipts from such headings as they were in the period 1st-9th April, 1958.

Receipts under the heading Parcel Post include an amount of £38,305 in respect of wearing apparel; it is not possible to allocate the balance of these receipts to the appropriate headings without undue expenditure of time.
