Vol. 176 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Broadcasting Station in Waterford.

32.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will consider the establishment of a broadcasting station in Waterford city.

Present financial resources available to Broadcasting would not permit of the provision and operation of a studio in Waterford. Talent from Waterford and from the southern area as a whole is, however, well catered for by the broadcasting mobile units. The studios recently established in Cork were also intended to provide additional facilities for broadcasters throughout Munster and they are in fact doing so.

I shall have something to say on the Estimate.
