Vol. 177 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Offaly Forestry Workers' Conditions.

47.

asked the Minister for Lands whether forestry workers employed at Geashill State forest, County Offaly, are reduced in their pay a quarter hour in the event of their having to visit the toilet, and that no worker is allowed to light his pipe during working hours; and whether a further investigation into such conditions will be held without delay.

The answer to both parts of the Deputy's question is in the negative. The Deputy appears to be under a misapprehension in regard to the extent to which the amenities of modern civilisation are available at State Forests.
