Vol. 177 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Lorries for Transport of Cattle.

24.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power if he is aware that Córas Iompair Éireann are unable to cope with the demand for lorries for the transport of cattle, especially at this time of year; and whether, if this state of affairs continues, he will issue road plates to private owners to cater for the demand.

I have been advised by C.I.E. that they have no difficulty in supplying adequate transport for cattle.

Is the Minister aware that C.I.E. are not able to supply adequate transport for cattle? I shall make him aware of plenty of names and bring the people to him this evening.

I have no information to that effect.

The information the Minister got from C.I.E. is not correct.
