Vol. 177 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Lifford Bridge.

38.

asked the Minister for Local Government if agreement has been reached between the county councils of Donegal and Tyrone as to erecting a new bridge at Lifford; and, if so, when construction work is to commence.

I understand that Tyrone County Council are at present negotiating for the acquisition of land required for the scheme. When these negotiations are completed it will be open to Donegal county council to complete their preparation of final drawings and contract documents. The final version when completed will, as I have already indicated in reply to a previous question by the Deputy, be subject to my approval and to that of the responsible authorities on the Tyrone side. I am not in a position to say when the work is likely to commence.
