Vol. 177 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Pollution of River Camac.

42.

Mr. Ryan

andMr. M.J. O'Higgins asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware that the polluted river Camac as it flows through Drimnagh, Inchicore and Kilmainham, Dublin, is a danger to public health and an attraction to thousands of rats an other vermin which inhabit its banks; and, if so, if he will impress upon the local authorities concerned the urgent necessity of preventing the pollution of this river and of culverting it.

I am not so aware. I understand that the condition of this river does not constitute a danger to public health. The second part of the Question does not accordingly arise.
