Vol. 179 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Wages of Agricultural Workers on State Farms.

36.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if the Government will consider granting agricultural workers on the State farms an increase in wages in line with the salary adjustments recently granted to other State employees, including Civil Servants.

Agricultural workers at the farms under the control of my Department are paid a differential over the minimum rate of wages prescribed by the Agricultural Wages Board for the particular district or, where a higher rate than the minimum is generally paid locally, a differential over that rate is paid by my Department. I propose to maintain that arrangement.
