Vol. 179 No. 1

Public Business. - Pensions (Amendment) Bill, 1960—First Stage.

Leave granted to introduce a Bill entitled an Act to increase, with effect from the 1st day of August, 1959, the pensions payable under section 2 and section 3 of the Pensions Act, 1952— (Minister for Defence).

Is that not a Finance one?

Is this an Army Pensions Act or ordinary pensions?

It has to do with Army pensions.

Is there an Act known as the Pensions Act of 1952 or is there an Army Pensions Act of 1952?

I refuse to submit to cross examination for obvious reasons.

The Taoiseach ought to do a little research this afternoon.

These are all Bills to give effect to the Budget.

I think it should be the Minister for Finance. They are all Bills implementing the Supplementary Estimates we moved following the Budget decisions.

I take it any Minister may move them.

Second Stage ordered for Wednesday, 17th February, 1960.
