Vol. 179 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Erection of Hotel near Dublin Airport.

34.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether his attention has been drawn to a report that a £250,000 hotel is to be erected on a site near Dublin Airport; whether State assistance by way of grant or loan will be made available towards the erection of the building; and, if so, if he will indicate the amounts.

I have seen the newspaper report in question.

I am informed that no application for State assistance by way of grant or loan for this project has so far been received by Bord Fáilte.

May I ask the Minister, if such request is made and if sanction is given to any application, will the necessary details be made available in the Annual Report of Bord Fáilte? Will details and the amounts of grants made available be published by Bord Fáilte in their Report?

That is a separate Question to the extent that I do not know to what extent Bord Fáilte publish details of these transactions.

They are all published.

In view of the fact that State funds are involved, the onus is on Bord Fáilte to give such information in the Annual Report if it is a fact that this House is precluded from getting such information in the normal course of question and answer.

I will see what the position is when the time comes.
