asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the date on which the Foreign Trade Committee referred to by him in the Dáil on the 17th February, 1960 was appointed, and the names and qualifications of the members of the Committee.

The Foreign Trade Committee is an interdepartmental advisory committee set up by the Minister for Industry and Commerce in 1934. It is composed of senior officials of my Department and of the Departments of An Taoiseach, Finance, Agriculture, Lands and External Affairs. The personnel of the Committee is not fixed. Its meetings are attended by officials of the Departments mentioned who are conversant with the matters coming before the Committee for consideration.
