Vol. 180 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Licences for Importation of Shoes.

23.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he is aware that some persons to whom licences have been issued for the importation of shoes have sold such licences to other parties who, in turn, have increased the price of the shoes to the retail purchaser in order to recoup the cost of buying the licences; and if he will take steps in the interests of consumers to stamp out that practice.

I am not so aware.

If the Deputy will let me have particulars of any cases of sales of footwear quota licences which have come to his notice, I will have the matter investigated.
