Vol. 180 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Roads and Services on Dublin Housing Estates.

24.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware of the failure of some builders of housing estates to complete roads and services to the satisfaction of either the Dublin Corporation or the Dublin County Council with consequential losses to the purchasers of houses in such estates; and if he will take steps, including the introduction of legislation if necessary, to ensure that all builders satisfactorily complete roads and services within a reasonable time.

I am aware that cases of failure of the nature referred to by the Deputy have occurred. The question whether legislation would effectively obviate the occurrence of such cases in future is being considered.
